NFLA Central Ohio "Caring for Kids" Softball Tournament Sponsorship Package

Introduction:

The 2009 NFL Alumni Caring for Kids Softball Tournament seeks to structure a partnership that will position your company as a Vendor Partner of our event.

Tournament Background:

Host Site: Berliner Park, Columbus, OH –Lou Berliner Park is the largest softball complex in the country serving as home to 32 fields.

History/Background: The NFL Alumni Caring for Kids Softball Tournament in its inaugural year has teamed up with the Commit to be Fit and WBNS news anchor Andrea Cambern. The weekend will benefit child fitness and nutrition initiatives in schools to help combat childhood obesity.

Designated Charities: Fuel Up To Play, Cap City Youth Sports
Charitable Initiatives:
Perhaps the most important legacy of the NFL Alumni Association is its members and their dedication to the communities in which they live. This is accomplished through an immense dedication to raising funds for youth based charities. Through the history of the Association they have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars benefiting a vast array of charities including the Boys and Girls Club and the Buckeye Ranch of Columbus.
The Caring for Kids Softball Tournament is teaming up with local community partners to combat the epidemic of childhood obesity in our state. The focus of this tournament is to raise awareness and resources to provide nutrition education and promotion of active lifestyles to help combat and prevent obesity among today’s children.

B.A.T.S. -B.A.T.S. is an organization that funds the Cap City Youth Sports Programs for the City of Columbus. Cap City Sports reaches out to the youth in the Columbus area and provides equipment and fields to teams that need their help.

Fuel Up To Play –Sponsored by the National Dairy Council and the National Football League, Fuel Up to Play strives to create a healthier school environmentthat promotes student health, learning and achievement by motivating students to "get up and play" for 60 minutes a day and to "fuel up" with the food groups encouraged in the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans but that youth don't get enough of—low-fat and fat-free dairy foods, fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
2009 Caring for Kids Softball Tournament Details

Date: August 29-30, 2009

Venue: Berliner Park, Columbus, Ohio

Format: Three divisions (3) with separate winners
Approximately 150-200 teams

Pricing:$300 per team
Ancillary Events:
- Family Fun Zone featuring interactive activities, prizes and entertainment
- NFL Alumni interaction with public including daily autograph sessions
- Food pavilion

Partnership Details
As a partner of the NFL Alumni Association Caring for Kids Softball Tournament, you will receive the following:
􀂄On-site sales distribution
􀂄Category exclusivity
􀂄Logo present on all collateral materials* including but not limited to:
- Entry forms
- Web-site exposure
- Television advertising
- Print
- Event banners
- All other printed materials completed in support of the event (i.e. hot cards, flyers, on- premise posters)
-Mentions in radio advertising
􀂄Placement of up to 2 banners at each diamond
-Banners must be provided by partner, recommended size is 4’x6’
􀂄Collateral piece in player goodie bag
-5,000 total bags to be distributed to all players at registration
-Items could be discount coupons, logo collateral or premium items
*Logo placement will be applicable to all materials not yet produced
As a partner of the NFL Alumni Association Caring for Kids Softball Tournament, the event requests the following:
􀂄Distribution of registration materials via each store location
- NFLA to provide all materials to each location
􀂄Placement of supportive signage
- NFLA to provide each of the retail locations with posters/flyers for display in an effort to increase exposure and awareness of the event
􀂄Financial donation
- In exchange for the aforementioned benefits, the NFL Alumni Association requests a financial donation of $5,000.00 per retail location
- Vendor space may be rented for the event without the aforementioned benefits for a fee of $1,500.00
